George Clooney Receives the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award

August 30th, 2010 Posted in General

George Clooney last night received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards. After being handed the award he gave short speech. Two words come to mind: Class Act. At the end of his spiel he said, “… heres hoping that some very bright person right here in the room or at home watching can help find a way to keep the spotlight burning on these heartbreaking situations that continue to be heartbreaking long after the cameras go away. That would be an impressive accomplishment.” Then he shook his trophy in the air and walked off stage.

His statement is very true. A major catastrophe can happen and 6 months, a year, 5 years later no one remembers or cares about what happened, the people, the devastation, or the lasting long term events. Here’s a thought, maybe it’s you that can help remind the masses about these major life altering events.  Who knows, maybe George Clooney will even give you a job.
